“Riches are not from abundance of worldly goods, but form a contented mind. -Unknown
As we continue to the practice of being generous with ourselves, reflect on how you can practice self-care regarding your own emotional wellness. Is there something worrying you this holiday season? Perhaps naming it can help you to begin to diminish its power. It is so easy to worry, to feel discontented because we don’t have “enough” in our lives-enough time, money, friends, gifts, perfect family, home or someone special to share the holidays with.
In the quote, “Riches are not from abundance or worldly goods, but from a contented mind”- encourages us to move from a “scarcity” mindset to an “enough” mindset. This mindset believes that what we already have is enough. We already have enough of what we need to be content. Perhaps being generous with ourselves this year is simply learning to love, celebrate, and believe that whatever we already have is enough.
Making it personal:
Write down one or two things you are worried about right now?
Name any feelings you have right now of scarcity, of not having “enough” of something in your life.
What might help you let go of or make peace with what you have named?
